About · Vol. I · India

One person, checking prices so you don’t have to.

No panel, no lab, no committee: I read the specs, price out every tier, and crown the one answer I’d put my own money on. This page is the reasoning laid bare.
Jash Jacob

I’m Jash Jacob. I spent years at Techzei writing about and arguing over tech products, and these two sites are what that turned into: the shortest version of everything I’ve learned about buying gadgets in India. Find me at x.com/jashjacob or jashjacob.com.

Why a whole site of “it depends” is useless

Most buying guides hand you five “great options” and call that a service. It isn’t: it just moves the deciding onto you. So every question here gets the full field, judged tier by tier, and then one crowned answer with no hedge attached. It is not necessarily what I personally own; it is what I’d suggest to a friend who asked. When it is also something I’ve bought and lived with, the long-term write-up, months of use, what broke, what held, lives at thisismynext.in.

House rules

The crown goes to what I’d actually buy next

Not the priciest contender, not the one with the best margins, not the one a brand wants leading. Every question ends with the pick I’d spend my own money on if I were shopping today.

Every price band gets a real verdict

A contender only earns a slot in the table because it is genuinely worth weighing at that budget, not because the grid looked thin with three rows instead of four.

None of this is a loaner in disguise

When a review unit is involved, it is disclosed on that page. Loans never buy a crown; the crown goes wherever the specs and the price point lead, owned by me or not.

Every pick carries the date it was judged

Prices move and better contenders show up, so verdicts get re-checked and rewritten rather than defended past the month they were true.

Need this pointed at your exact situation instead of the market’s? I do 1:1 consulting on product selection, for a person kitting themselves out or a team standing up its stack.
Brands: got a contender that belongs in one of these fields?
